Why Liveaboard in Komodo?

Komodo National Park contains some of the world’s richest marine biodiversity — over 1,000 species of fish, 260 species of coral, and critical populations of pygmy seahorses, manta rays, whale sharks, and hammerhead sharks. The most spectacular sites (Batu Bolong, Crystal Rock, Castle Rock) are distant from Labuan Bajo and only accessible overnight or by multi-day passage. Liveaboard guests dive these sites in the early morning, when currents and visibility are optimal and day-trip boats have yet to arrive.

Private Phinisi Liveaboard Fleet

All vessels are traditional Bugis Phinisi sailing ships, hand-built in Sulawesi’s Tanaberu district. Our partner vessels range from 25–45 meters, configured for 4–14 guests in en-suite cabins. All carry full safety certification, life rafts, oxygen, and experienced crew.

Standard Private Liveaboard Configuration

  • 4–6 AC cabins (depending on vessel) with private en-suite bathrooms
  • Sun deck with loungers and shading

Recommended Liveaboard Itineraries

  • 2 Nights / 3 Days — West Komodo: Padar Island, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Gili Lawa Darat, Manta Point. From USD 2,400 for the vessel (2–8 guests).
  • 4 Nights / 5 Days — Complete Komodo Circuit: Adds Banta Island, Kalong Island bat migration at sunset, Crystal Rock, and Batu Bolong. From USD 4,800 for the vessel.
  • 7 Nights / 8 Days — Extended Raja Komodo: Full Komodo circuit plus passage toward Sape and Satonda Island. Price on request.

Diving Note

Komodo currents can be strong (2–4 knots at some sites). Our guide recommends a minimum Open Water Diver certification, with Advanced preferred for the premium sites. Non-divers are welcome; snorkeling is outstanding at most sites.
